3D photography images are multiline or multi-row 360 images. Pictures of an object are taken not only from each angle horizontally but also from each angle where the camera is shifted vertically. AJAX-ZOOM does support this multi-row 360 images too. An explanation of how images should be arranged can be found in this example.
The basic difference between 360° and 3D is that while for 360° you need to provide path to a folder, where 360 degree image frames are located directly in this folder, for 3D you need to provide a path to a folder in which AJAX-ZOOM can find subfolders with image frames located in these fubfolders for each row. The number of image files in each subfolder has to be equal. Naming of the files does not have to follow a scheme, they just need to be named according to a regular sorting algorithm, however you must name files in each folder differently. This is very important also for 360° images where you also have to name image files differently even if it is about separate 360° views.
If you want to create not only semi-spherical but also full spherical 3D product views, please pay attention to the naming and the order of the files for frames, which should show the object from below. These files have to be named in the mirrored order. It is also easy to make clear why: take a coin and turn it leftwards looking from top position. Turning the coin in the same direction look at it from below. As you can see, the coin now turns to the right.
The number of horizontal rows or subfolders starts from two and is limited by the option spinMaxRows. The shoe above is a semi-spherical representation with 7 rows and 24 frames in each row. On the right you can see a full spherical 3D example with 9 rows and 90 frames in each row.
The player has options to change the direction of rotation horizontally and vertically, also many other 360 specific options, which are applicable for 3D as well. For example, you can adjust the sensitivity of rotation depending on mouse movement distance, enable or disable rotation during loading, or turn on and off various elements of the UI elements and change their appearance.
Hotspots on 3D rotations are supported by AJAX-ZOOM too. Moreover, hotspots can be combined with the "360 / 3D Product Tour". With these two tools, AJAX-ZOOM is a full-fledged 360 software that lets you visually tell the story of your product on the web. Both tools are also built into our e-commerce modules and are ready for use immediately after installation.
Please note, that you can load 3D in all examples with 360.
"Modules / plugins / extensions" are not needed to use AJAX-ZOOM. However these wonderful modules will facilitate and speed up the integration of AJAX-ZOOM into various established CMS or e-commerce / shopping cart systems. If all conditions are met, then you will have AJAX-ZOOM running in your shop within two minutes. The modules can be installed and configured with just a few clicks without writing a single line of code.
